RENEWALS

Application for Licence (Renewal)

The Property Agents Board (“the Board”), is the statutory authority responsible for the property agents in Tasmania.

The Board has determined that the licence period is 1 July to 30 June each year.

In April each year the Board forwards the necessary paperwork to all licensed property agents to apply to renew his or her licence.

Property Agents are required to complete and return the Application for Licence (Renewal) form, prescribed fees and any documents or information that the Board requires by 30 April.

Late fees apply for late lodgement.

Property Agents Conducting Business
Each Property Agent conducting business will receive a bundle of renewal documents.

The bundle comprises of an information Memo, Tax Invoice, Application for Licence (Renewal) for the business and one for each licensed property agent.​

Licence holder not currently employed
A licensed property agent who is not currently linked to a business will receive renewal documents which have been sent to the individual's address as listed on the Board's Register.

​The information provided, is a Memo, Tax Invoice and Application for Licence (Renewal) form.

Lodgement
All applications must be lodged with the Property Agents Board by 30 April 2018. Late fees apply for the late lodgement of licence applications (that is, received after 30 April 2018). 
 
Applications can be lodged by mail to Property Agents Board, Level 1, 15 Victoria Street, Hobart 7000 or preferably via email to board@propertyagentsboard.com.au. 

To assist the Board, if emailing 
please scan each Application for Licence (Renewal) form separately.
 
Applications cannot be regarded as having been lodged unless they are correctly completed (with all required accompanying documents), signed and the correct fees paid.

Refund of overpaid fees
If there is a refund required the Board will refund any overpayments by EFT.  There is a section on the Application for Licence (Renewal) form (this is for conducting business licence and individuals not employed).
Completing Forms 
INDIVIDUAL LICENSEES
 
Each licensee has an Application for Licence (Renewal) form to complete. 

The first page should be checked, and any incorrect information amended.
 
The reverse side of the form comprises 5 different sections:
Personal Details
Continued Professional Development 
Disclosures  
Declaration  
Employer statement  (if applicable)

BUSINESS LICENCE
 
The first page should be checked, and any incorrect information amended.  The reverse side of the form comprises 2 different sections to be completed by the property agent nominated to manage as named on the Board's Register.
   
Company Directors
 
There is a requirement for all directors of the company to be named on the Board’s Registers. 

​With the renewal documentation a current copy of a recent ASIC document that lists all the Company Directors should also be forwarded.

Key Points to Note
Every licence holder receives their own Application for Licence (Renewal) form to complete.  

Any incorrect information on the licence should be amended.

CPD should be noted on the Application of Licence (Renewal) form, but if not yet complete the licence holder has until 30 June 2018.
